Public Communications Worldwide Names New President
The Firm, One of the Oldest in California, Tabs Well Respected Practitioner to Key Position

6/20/2009 – Garden Grove, CA – Public Communications/Worldwide (PC/W), one of the oldest, independent public relations and marketing communications firms in California, has named Susan van Barneveld, APR as its new president, effective May 1. Her strategic message development and the numerous creative campaigns for her clients have earned her numerous prestigious awards. She brings over 20 years of exceptionally diverse public relations and marketing experience to her new role.

"I am so happy and proud to name Susan president of PC/W," stated John van Barneveld, PC/W founder and now chairman emeritus. "Happy because she has the experience, talents, and foresight to effectively guide the company and position it as a public relations and marketing communications leader. Susan van Barneveld returns to PC/W after an eight year stint as co-founder and CEO of Antarra Communications. While there, she designed comprehensive marketing programs, supervised accounts and guided strategic direction. During her tenure she also directed the creative services and online development divisions as well as overseeing international growth of the company. Through her extensive knowledge of information technology systems she created an award-winning media-technology house that developed complex database-driven websites and new-media campaigns as well as traditional marketing programs.

Past and current account responsibilities include: Sony, Panasonic, BenQ, Memorex, Shuttle Computers, Nextar, Eviant, Ritek and the Fairchild Corporation (NYSE:FA). Ms. van Barneveld is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and was a Co-Chair of the 1999 International Public Relations Conference in Anaheim, CA. She is currently a member of the Counselors Academy and a 2009 PRSA National Assembly Delegate at Large.
